Looks like Nintendo is taking some risk and putting a lot of weight behind the Switch.  I have yet to get my hands on one, so I am not sure how great this device is, but I am hearing good things.  I expect that Nintendo has done some serious analysis before making this decision.  This is one of those moves that either shows the public how well you know the market, or it makes you look like a complete moron.  This decision could have some serious implications on the executive leadership within the company over the coming year.

  1. I don’t know if I would call this a gamble, bro. Nintendo has it right on this one. If anything, they may sell out. But that’s ok because that will just drive more demand. Supply and demand, son. That is how this works.

  2. I am not saying that they won’t sell all of them. The point of the post was just to let people know that Nintendo is really taking a risk here. I think this is one of those times where someone is going to look really good, or someone is getting canned.
